Rangers sign Adam Tambellini to entry-level contract

The Rangers have signed 2013 third round pick Adam Tambellini to an entry-level contract.

In 93 WHL games, Tambellini has 61 goals and 54 assists. This season he has 44 goals and 32 assists in 62 games.

1) Adam Tambellini, C, Calgary Hitmen (WHL) – Tambellini registered his second career WHL hat trick and posted a plus-three rating on Jan. 18 vs. Regina. He has posted four multi-point games, including three three-point games, in the last seven contests (seven goals, six assists over the span).

1) Adam Tambellini, C, Calgary Hitmen (WHL) – Tambellini recorded a point in all four games he played during the past week, and posted a multi-point game in three of those contests. He registered three points (two goals, one assist) on Jan. 6 at Moose Jaw, recorded two points (two assists) on Jan. 7 at Swift Current, and notched three points (two goals, one assist) on Jan. 10 at Lethbridge.

RangersThe Rangers have sent through the following report on their prospects for the time period of 12/8 to 12/14:

Three Stars of the Week:

1) Richard Nejezchleb, RW, Tri-City Americans (WHL) – Nejezchleb tallied four points (two goals, two assists) in the Americans’ four games this past week. He notched a goal in Tri-City’s 4-3 shootout loss to Everett on Dec. 9 and recorded two points (one goal, one assist), including the game-winning goal, in the Americans’ 4-0 victory over Seattle on Dec. 12.

The Rangers’ fifth round pick (122nd overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has tallied a point in 13 of 17 WHL games this season and in 11 of 15 games since he joined the Americans. With goals in each of Tri-City’s first two games this past week, Nejezchleb extended his goal streak to three games, tying a WHL career-high.

Three Stars of the Week:

1: Adam Tambellini, C, Calgary Hitmen (WHL) – Tambellini began this past week by registering three points (one goal, two assists) and posting a plus-three rating on December 2 against Red Deer. He followed that performance by tallying a goal and posting a plus-two rating in each of Calgary’s next two contests on December 5 against Edmonton and December 7 against Moose Jaw. He finished the week with five points (three goals, two assists) and a plus-seven rating in three games.

EMERGING FROM THE PACK
After winning its season opener on Oct. 12 at Syracuse, the Wolf Pack returned to Hartford for two home contests this past weekend. Hartford won its home opener on Saturday, defeating the Portland Pirates, 2-1. Ryan Haggerty opened the scoring with a power play goal in the third period, as he redirected a pass from Oscar Lindberg into the net for his first professional goal. J.T Miller registered the game-winning goal in his AHL season debut. On Sunday, the Wolf Pack and Hershey Bears were deadlocked in a scoreless battle through regulation and 6:58 of overtime, until Casey Wellman’s power play goal gave the Bears a 1-0 win.

THREE STARS OF THE WEEK

Brandon Halverson, G – After winning each of his first two starts, Halverson continued his strong play for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL) this past week. The Rangers’ second-round pick (59th overall) in the 2014 NHL Draft posted a 2-0-0 record, along with a 2.00 GAA and a .934 SV% in two contests. Halverson made 29 saves in a 6-4 victory against the Saginaw Spirit on October 1, and stopped all 28 shots he faced in a 2-0 road victory against the Sudbury Wolves on October 3.

OHL SEASON TOTALS: 4 GP, 4-0-0, 2.25 GAA, .935 SV%, 1 SO
