BGA!   BGA! BGA!

I need my fix.  All the hype is too much.  Please post the BGA soon or I am going to have to start getting work done around here.

If Peyton retires he might want to leave because then Denver just like half the league and in search of a franchise QB.

Would be great but I cannot imagine ANY good WR thinking a move to the Jets is worth it.  Anyone worth a big contract will get it from a better team.

Do we keep Harvin?  Love his talent... not sure if it's Holmes part 2.

@brian_bassett the banner ad that takes over this page is horrible. Makes it very difficult to load the page content.

@Brian_Bassett I don't see Thomas going anywhere. Elway knows talent. Pays him or tags him. This story getting old.

@SangHoon Daniel Lee I wish more people could be tell the future. Can you tell me what the numbers are going to be for tomorrow?

@levi if Manning retires, the Broncos have Brock Osweiler (a former 2nd round pick) who has been waiting patiently for a chance at the starting QB job.

Depending upon how Osweiler has looked in practice, Thomas may not have many concerns about whether or not Manning retires this offseason.

@levi I sort of agree with that - that's why I think they don't come to terms on a deal, they tag him for what is probably Peyton's last shot, and he becomes a FA next year

@machoking No more bad players in the locker room please. You don't see problem players in New England do you.....and look at the success they have had.

@machoking That's sort of how I feel about the FAs this year - not sure we're the most attractive destination in football terms (great from a 'being in the spotlight' and $$$ perspective though)

The number of WRs in the draft may make it possible to go with a 'lesser' talent in FA at WR though - maybe we add a redzone threat in FA and add a burner in the draft, or vice versa?

@machoking not for 10.5 mil this year. Cut him before March 10th so They give Seattle a 6th instead of a 4th and see if he wants to resign.

I can't see how Denver doesn't tag him, but you never know.

@Starz31 because Decker's production was severally hurt this past season...........

@yetsober @Brian_Bassett Now I wish they would stop with the Revis nonsense..... It's NONSENSE people HE IS NOT coming back and I wouldn't pay a CB 20 Million regardless who he is....this team needs more than one player to reach the playoffs.....

I can't believe the Broncos are thinking, "Hey, if Peyton retires, we have OSWEILER waiting in the wings. We are set!"

@ukjetsfan @machoking Yea, Ideally we would build through the draft... maybe new management can target better players, but that is no guarantee.  However, i think Harvin should go (hate saying it) but I do not think he is the kind of guy that will be positively influenced by Decker or a "great locker room".... feel like we need to bring in the right type of guys to avoid mid season meltdowns and 1-7 starts.

Don't ask me who that is though..... Cooper from Alabama??

@Pete 57 what prevented Idzik from trying to sign a veteran QB who had the ability to beat out a raw QB, that obviously was NOT ready to be a starter in the NFL?

Why would the Broncos draft a raw but physically impressive QB in round 2 if they weren't planning to groom him to be the starter eventually?

What is more ridiculous - drafting a raw but physically impressive QB in round 2 & making him the starter from game 1 of his rookie season or grooming him behind a HoF QB & giving him the job, or at least an opportunity to win it, after he has refined his skills after a few years on the bench?

hitchhiker

@levi Osweiler, a raw but physically impressive athlete (tall with a big arm), was drafted fairly high & given the opportunity to develop in an organization with 2 HoF QBs & minimal pressure.

This appears to be an ideal situation, & is MUCH wiser than Lord Idzik's plan to draft a raw but physically impressive athlete & force him into the starting QB job through faux-competitions when it was obvious to even casual observers that the QB was in 'way over his head' & would benefit from some time on the bench to learn & refine his skills.

Pete 57

Umm, Idzik signed the best available FA QB. So not sure what you're referring to there.

It's mostly Rex's fault that Geno didn't get to sit his first year. He got Sanchez hurt. That definitely wasn't Idziks fault.

Pete 57
Pete 57

I'm sure if Idzik had a HOF QB on the roster, he would've had the same plan as the Broncos.

bserviss9
bserviss9

@Pete 57 so Rex was the one that tackled Sanchez and hurt his shoulder? And here I was thinking he was a head coach

hitchhiker
hitchhiker

If Rex got Sanchez hurt, why was Sanchez reported to be screaming at Idzik, not Rex, in the lockerroom after the game?

It is painfully obvious Vick was never brought in to challenge Geno, as Vick basically said so all during TC & the preseason.

Idzik wanted 'his guy' Geno to be the starter, that is what happened, & it got Idzik, Rex, & a lot of other folks fired.

Pete 57
Pete 57

First of all, let me say I agree I would like a young QB to sit for a year, or two. With that said, in his rookie season Geno didn't get the chance to sit because Sanchez got hurt. We can blame whoever we want, but I don't think Idzik or Rex WANTED Sanchez hurt.

So that brings us to year two. Things are very different. Geno just played an entire season, won 8 games, and finished the season strong. Even with that, Idzik signed the best available Vet QB. So if Vick showed he was light years ahead of Geno, he would've started. But since he wasn't very good, they played the kid, who had a very good ending to his rookie season. Makes sense.
