12:26PM: John Shannon tweets that the Stars are planning interviews with more candidates for next week.

12PM: Josh Rimer tweets that with Bylsma out of the picture, expect the Rangers to make a decision soon on who their next coach will be.

11:52AM: Darren Dreger says that Vigneault left California after the Rangers interview last night and that he expects Dallas to re-connect with him in the next couple of days.

7:11AM: In the NY Post, Larry Brooks writes that the Rangers should move quickly if they want to hire Alain Vigneault to replace John Tortorella as head coach.

Vigneault is also at the top of the list for the Dallas Stars, who he has already met with, and the Rangers need to move quickly before Dallas GM Jim Nill makes an offer to Vigneault.

Nill and Vigneault played together in St. Louis in the early 1980s and the two were together in Ottawa in the early 90s when Vigneault was an assistant coach and Nill was a scout.

Brooks notes that Sather is not known for moving particularly quickly when it comes to these types of moves.

In 2002 it took him nearly two months before settling on a new coach.
