Last season, Dan Girardi played close to 2,200 minutes in the regular season which was good enough for second in the NHL.
Ryan McDonagh played just over 2000 minutes which was 10th in the league.
In the playoffs, Girardi played 537 minutes and McDonagh played 536 minutes while both averaged close to 27 minutes per game.
Yesterday, John Tortorella was asked if he thought about cutting down their minutes and responded, “No. We are gonna play the hell out of them. We are. We are trying to win every game.”
