J. Smooth 5pts I want Anthony Barr. I don't care what position he plays, he looks like Aldon Smith without the bombs. a57se 5pts Based on the guys the Jets have shown interest in over the past few months, here is my latest attempt at Mocking the Jets:#18 Beckham, Lee or Cooks in that order.....gotta figure one of them will be there.Trade #49, #104, #154, #195 and #233 to the Washington Pale Faces for the #34 pick and select Kyle Fuller CB.#80 CJ Fiedorowicz TE#115 Dri Archer OW#137 Tajh Boyd QB#209 Dez Southward S#210 Larry Webster DE/OLB#213 John Brown WR Brendan 5pts @Marvel At FB. Marvel 5pts @J. Smooth Smith ain't the same without the bombs. a57se 5pts @J. Smooth Have you watched his tape? I don't mean his highlight videos on youtube. Cordell C 5pts @57 wouldn't mind that draft Marvel 5pts @a57se no trade ups 57....just no. Hazard2012 5pts @a57se Have no problem with Cooks or Beckham in first. After that you've lost me. We don't have the right mix of picks to move up economically, and Fuller simply isn't worth that kind of cost. Too many other options at CB still on board -- Watkins, Baptiste, McGill, Exum, etc. who could do just fine. I like Fiedo, but he's a poor man's consolation prize for not landing one of the top TE's, and he's really no upgrade over Cumby, which is the point of drafting a TE at all. J. Smooth 5pts @a57se Five picks to move up 15 spots in the second round? And Tajh Boyd at 137? Why. Just why. Bent moderator 5pts @Brendan @Marvel Punt protector? Marvel 5pts @Brendan QB2 Brendan 5pts @a57se Nope, you're the only fan with access to those. Tell us what to think, please! a57se 5pts @Cordell C I think it fills the roster out quite nicely though I am not a fan of all the picks......... a57se 5pts @Marvel @a57se Meh.....12 draft picks and especially 9 from the 4th round on is too much. Pat d 5pts 57Very realistic draft resultsI take it Lee is gone by 18LOL a57se 5pts @J. Smooth @a57se We've looked at a few QB's and Boyd fits the 'type' of QB we already have on the roster....as far as the trade goes, that is about what it would take to move that far unless you want to give up our third round pick....which I didn't want to do. Figure it out for yourself here:http://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp?RequestTeam=nyj juunit 5pts @a57se According to what's his face that's what happened this year. But there's no data for other years, like 2012 when Watkins wasn't a big factor. That 57% also only represents Watkins' receptions and not all of Boyd's throws. Whereas a real big portion of all Smith's passes were of the screen variety. a57se 5pts @juunit Watkins caught most of his passes at or near the LOS.......didn't he? Brendan 5pts @Marvel I don't think so? Boyd threw more of those easy completions. Over 50% of Watkins' passes were screens, weren't they? Austin actually went downfield on his routes. Marvel 5pts @Brendan rather talk 2 yard passes to Austin?? Can't defend Geno then talk down Boyd... make ya look silly :-) juunit 5pts @BrendanLower completion percentage by a couple points. Also threw down field more. I'd say they're fairly similar in terms of consistency with accurate passes coming out. I'd probably give Boyd the edge though. He lived on deep passes to Watkins/Hopkins. a57se 5pts @Marvel @BentBoyd does meet the Parcells criteria....started over 40 games in college, improved each year...... Brendan 5pts @Marvel Isn't he a far less accurate QB coming out of college than Geno was, when you stop talking about behind-the-LOS screens to a top-5 pick, I mean? Marvel 5pts @Bent @Brendan@Marvel Give him 12 games to show he can be decent, I mean not a pick 6 machine .... like with Geno :-) Brendan 5pts @Marvel Lol. koala 5pts @Brendan @a57se if you have read Collision Low Crossers DT (went to USC) is pretty staunchly opposed to UCLA players - thinks they are soft. didnt sound like he was joking either Cordell C 5pts I think fuller is better than denard a57se 5pts @Cordell C I'd rather have Jalen Saunders but I did limit my picks to guys the Jets have shown interest in........I don't like Tajh Boyd nor would I trade up for Kyle Fuller but I was trying to come up with a mock that I thought the Jets might do........... and to get people thinking. Cordell C 5pts @57 rather have dat over archer though a57se 5pts @Pat d I did say Beckham, Lee or Cooks at 18..... a57se 5pts @Pat d That was my goal...I limited myself to players we have actually shown interest in and tried to guess how we might go about it next week.....I wouldn't take all the guys I listed as I told another poster. a57se 5pts @DarrolRayFanClub @a57se Exactly.... a57se 5pts @DarrolRayFanClub Yup but when you look at the trades from last years draft you'll see they averaged approximately 90% of full value so 560 x 0.9 = 504.....probably can keep the 5th rounder if Washington really wants to trade down. a57se 5pts @Hanknaples @BrendanLike they regretted taking Mario Williams? Brendan 5pts @Hanknaples Why is this directed at me? Brendan 5pts @Bent Boyd looks like he's just a more muscular guy and can probably add weight. I don't think Manziel can do the same, but who knows. Bent moderator 5pts @Brendan @juunit He's got like an inch and 10 pounds on Manziel. Is it unrealistic to suggest that maybe Manziel will become Johnny Fullback in a few years time? Brendan 5pts @Bent Wat. Bent moderator 5pts @Brendan @juunit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o386Zv5L3u8 Brendan 5pts @juunit I might have mentioned this, but I basically programmed myself to dislike Boyd because of an insufferable Clemson fan that I know, so I started trolling this kid by calling Boyd "Clemson's Michael Robinson" and saying he's going to be a fullback. But Clemson actually used Boyd as a short-yardage back, he's short and compact....I can see it happening. Boyd the FB. You heard it here first. juunit 5pts @BrendanIt'd be an interesting debate which QB had the strongest arm if we did draft him at least. Plus, we'd be able to say YEAAAAAAH BOOOOOOOOOOOOYD! Brendan 5pts @juunit I honestly don't care about the team taking him, just not in the 4th. juunit 5pts @BrendanYeah, we'll see. But if you really don't want him you should probably hope he does go in the 3rd or at least early 4th. Brendan 5pts @juunit Ah, found it. That straw poll was taken in January, well before the stuff I linked to. And as we know, under the microscope, Boyd's flaws were being picked apart. I think he's closer to a 6th rounder than a 4th rounder at this point, but who knows. It only takes one team to fall in love with a guy and overdraft. Brendan 5pts @a57se Yes. Uninformed. "With three compensatory picks in the sixth round its easy to see Boyd being selected by the franchise."- Tony Pauline, the guy who is running the "Rex told Tajh he'll draft him" train. http://www.ganggreennation.com/2014/4/25/5654252/2014-nfl-draft-buzz-jets-like-tahj-boydAn entire article about how Gruden loves Boyd....as a 6th rounder: http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/2014/04/jon_gruden_clemsons_tajh_boyd.htmlKiper says fifth or sixth round for Tajh Boyd. #Clemson— Willie Smith (@willie_t_smith) February 6, 2014http://athlonsports.com/breaking-down-tajh-boyd-and-his-2014-nfl-draft-prospectsSorry I don't have time to sit and read every single report, but please shut up with the condescension. It's not like I pulled it out of thin air, jesus. And you wonder why people don't like you. juunit 5pts @a57seWell they could be wrong. But they're pretty good with rumors and info kind of stuff. juunit 5pts @BrendanIt's in their draft rumors page. It was a little while ago so you'll have to scroll down a bit. a57se 5pts @juunit Yeah, I read the same reports......just get tired of arguing with people who are uninformed. Brendan 5pts @juunit When was this? I saw reports like 2 weeks ago talking about how he was being seen as a "6th - UDFA" type of player. juunit 5pts @BrendanWalterfootball asked a bunch of teams about Boyd. Most said the 3rd round. I'd think if he's there in the 4th it's a lock we'd take him. Brendan 5pts @a57se But he stinks, so it wouldn't be good value in the 4th. a57se 5pts @Bent @a57se@J. Smooth Yeah, I didn't think Boyd would be around for our supplemental picks in the 6th round so it is either take him with the 4th round supplemental which is still pretty good value to me or not take him at all in this scenario...... Brendan 5pts @Bent In the 6th round, hopefully. Bent moderator 5pts @a57se @J. Smooth Tony Pauline apparently reported that Rex told Boyd he'd "try to find a way to draft him".
