Well this is the closest I have ever come to a perfect draft according to First Pick...

Round 1 Pick 10 (STL): Dante Fowler Jr., OLB/DE, Florida (A)
Round 2 Pick 5: Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin (A)
Round 2 Pick 9 (STL): Eric Kendricks, ILB/OLB, UCLA (A)
Round 3 Pick 6: Maxx Williams, TE, Minnesota (A)
Round 3 Pick 7 (CHI): Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State (A)
Round 4 Pick 5: Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M (A)
Round 4 Pick 7 (CHI): Tre McBride, WR, William & Mary (A)
Round 7 Pick 6: Zach Zenner, FB/RB, South Dakota State (A)
Round 7 Pick 7: Damian Swann, CB, Georgia (C+)

In my book, that's perfect for rounds 1 through 4.

@marc55

I'm not a big Ogbuehi fan but the 4th round is a good value slot for him.

Finally got Zenner in the 7th, would love the Jets to get him in camp and say goodbye to Tommy Bohanon.

@a57se @marc55

This would be pretty stellar.

I wouldn't waste my time with Damian Swann, though.  LOVE THE ZENNER PICK BABY

I agree on Ogbuehi, but have not seen much about Zenner. I'll take a look at him when I get a chance.

I think Smith in the 3rd is also a steal, but it seem doesn't like most people agree with that oppinion.

@marc55

Smith in R3 was probably my least favorite pick there.

R4 is my ceiling for him.

marc55
marc55

Interesting, what made you reach that conclusion?

tsjc68
tsjc68

@marc55

I don't see enough COD skills from him (he mainly runs go-routes and just uses speed to blow off the top, but there's not that much route tree running there) or suddenness, and he doesn't always track the ball well.

Very raw.

@tsjc68 @a57se @marc55

I was trying to get an A on the last pick...just guessing with First pick as to who is ranked where.

@tsjc68 @marc55

For a one trick pony, I'd take him...

We don't really have any other consistent deep threats.

@tsjc68 @a57se @marc55

7th round is the hardest to get A's in...

i try to trade those picks away but don't have much success...

@fatrex @tsjc68 @marc55

His ball skills are something that is hard to teach...

If Hill went after it like Smith, we would be a happy group of Hill fans.

Jets coaches will not accept laziness or excuses.

Putting aside that no coaching staff would accept this, it further reduces the already small odds of them drafting Gregory.

@marc55

You must have missed some of the stuff from last season...

@a57se

At least he acknowledges that Scherff could still play LT.

I'm not feeling the Tre Jackson love, though.

I guess Wninston wasn't the only one raiding the convenience stores...

They had two first round picks last year they reached for Gilbert and got suckered into drafting Johnie football

Bizarrely, this is actually not an April Fools joke.  It should be, though.

@tsjc68

Oh, that could be entirely true, they just don't know what to do with it...

Outside of the Manziel pick, I think the Browns have done a decent job of accumulating talent recently.

Winning with Hoyer points to this.

marc55
marc55

Gilbert could still turn it around, but last years draft also netted another first for this year, so it is an incomplete grade for now.

Brendan

@marc55 But they took Manziel, and are a clown car in the front office/ownership box, so we should still be skeptical.

marc55
marc55

Certainly fair to be skeptical, but it has not been all bad for them.

I'm admittedly rooting for them as an underdog and due to Pettine.

Pete 57
Pete 57

Why are you rooting for Pettine? The guy was a cancer when he was here. Leaking things to the media.

Here we are ...beginning of April.  Just watched Winston's Pro Day & am convinced he'd be a nice QB for us, both short & long term.

Of course, we sit about 1600ish draft value points away from ANY chance to get him...

...& I'm still glad we didn't tank last season...

The Brazilians at my academy were not happy about McGregor yesterday. One saying (loosely translated because I only know spanish) "Look at the irishmen trying to get the belt the easy way. He will learn about (us) Brazilians"

No, no it won't. Tweeting silly crap is never going to be an all time classic prank. You have to invest a bit more than 140 characters.

@Disgruntled Jets Fan

Tweeting at your bosses "Sorry that I got arrested for DUI again" and then saying 'April Fools", that's pretty ballsy.

So Rex ranked middle of the pack in 4th down aggressiveness. It drove me crazy at times to see the jets punt from midfield and only net a few yards in the end.

I hope Bowles is a bit more aggressive, and the offense is good enough to justify it.

No love for ma boi Sean Mannion?

tsjc68
tsjc68

@eurojet

All college QBs suck to some degree and they all have serious flaws of some sort that have to be corrected before they're viable NFL starters (yes, even Winston and Mariota).

The key is, you should draft the ones whose flaws are somewhat correctable (like, he trusts his arm too much or he hits the front shoulder instead of the back shoulder or he doesn't bait safeties well) instead of the flaws that portend certain doom (like, he poops his pants every time someone breathes on him, which is Mannion's problem).

eurojet
eurojet

@tsjc68 @eurojet Mannion reminds me a lot of Mike Glennon. Slow, tall and a decent arm. He would be a nice project that may work out... I like him a lot better than Bridge for example - this dude should play RB. Mannion at least showed me that he can make NFL-throws

tsjc68
tsjc68

@eurojet @tsjc68

I like that your defense for why Mannion is worth gambling on is Mike Glennon, a guy many of us around here detest.

My offer for both Mannion and Glennon is the same:  Conditional 8th, final offer.

Better than what we've had so far, which is the worst in the league ≠ something good enough to merit acquiring and investing resources in
