Buzz: Rick Nash’s Asking Price

According to Eric Francis on CBC, the asking price for Rick Nash is an impact player that can help the team now, two top prospects and a first round pick.

Elliotte Freidman says that the Rangers WON’T move Michael Del Zotto or Ryan McDonagh but that they are interested in Nash.

Francis says that a deal isn’t likely to happen until the summer.

Freidman says that Columbus is trying to push Nash on the Flyers and then plan to send Jeff Carter to LA.

Steve Zipay writes about Nash at Newsday.

Just read a draft RUMOR:

ChipSter to trade QB SamBradford + DE Fletch Cox + ILB Michal Kendrick + 2015 1st R. Pick & 2015 3rd R. Pick for the Titans 2015 1st R. 2nd Pick + 2015 5th R. Pick, so he can draft QB Mariotta.

to Sweeten the Deal, the Eagle's are taking a $7 M Sal-Cap hit to carry some of Bradford Salary.

Bradford has a $13 M 2015 Cap Hit. Titans would pay only $6 M.

I'd like to see Nassib have a chance. The offense is a great one for him and he looked pretty good in last year's preseason.

File this under - the draft is coming up, and i am running out of things to write about.

The Giants are far more likely to talk to Cleveland about moving up if Mariotta is still available, and less about the Giants actually taking him.  Short of an injury (that will not likely occur before they draft) Eli is with the Giants through this season - and probably 2 more  on Franchise tags, if they don't sign him to a longer contract.  Taking Mariotta now would be a huge waste

I don't see him dropping, and if he does, the Giants will make a deal. No chance he wears the Blue

NEVER Happen... the ChipSter will get him, no matter what....

Really tired of Reese wasting picks when the team has holes to fill. He likes to live in a fantasy world, overthinking things.

If this is true, can everyone officially admit that trading away 2 picks to select a player that was never going to play (Nassib) was one of the dumbest picks Reese has ever made?

No, quite the contrary.

The Giants traded up and picked Ryan Nassib in 2013 for the same reason they drafted Jeff Hostetler in the third round in 1984, when Phil Simms was just 29 years old.

Nassib had a second row grade and the Giants were able to draft him in the fourth round. He was an easy pick, and the right one.

Nassib "was never going to play." That's the same thing the fans and the media said about Hostetler. That is, until he led the Giants to victory in Super Bowl 25.
