John Moore, who played with Nash in Columbus, told the Rangers website“when you are first drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets, the first thing you think of is Rick Nash. He is the face of the franchise. Then you get to play with him and you understand why he is such a superstar. You get the puck to him and he does special things. As a teammate you just kind of sit back and watch him do his thing. It’s exciting to be able to play with him again in NY.”
Carl Hagelin told the Daily News that sometimes when Nash is out there and has the puck it looks like he is playing against kids because everything seems like it is coming easy to him.
Henrik Lundqvist told the Daily News that when Nash has the puck and an opportunity to score or is one on one with a goalie, he likes the odds that Nash has of scoring.
Derek Dorsett told the NY Times that Nash is a quiet, humble guy but a “beast” on the ice.
Derek Stepan told the Rangers website that Nash is “explosive” and all he needs to do is get the puck to him to make a play happen.
Stepan added that Nash is “a quiet guy, but he speaks in his game. His game brings so much to the table and it sparks the team quite a bit. He is quiet but he isn’t afraid to talk. He picks his moments he is a veteran who has been around the block. It’s fun to play and learn from him.”
Wayne Gretzky has said that Nash is a great player.
