Read: Milan Lucic Responds To Idea That He Hurt Rick Nash(With Video Of Hit on Rick Nash)

Rick Nash has missed the previous two games with what is being speculated as dealing with after effects from a hit that Milan Lucic put on Nash last Tuesday in Boston.

Lucic told Joe Haggerty of CSNNE that the hit was clean and “I think he’s like 6-foot-4 and it was one of those things where I hit him and his head hit the glass [afterward]. It’s unfortunate for them and it’s unfortunate for Rick that he might be out because of that hit.”

He adds that he has only faced supplemental discipline once in his career and says that he isn’t a dirty player.

the other thing i noticed is that petty gets the ball out really fast. so fast that those 2nd and 3rd string WRs didn't have their hands up coming out of their breaks and he was pelting them in the face. despite the fact that it looked like a blooper film, i like that. better to have him get it out quick then to hold onto it too long, a la Sanchez and Geno.

then there's this: Following the preseason opener against the Packers, there will be plenty of analyzing the work of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in New England -- both internally and externally. Garoppolo completed 20 of 30 passes for 159 yards and an interception and was sacked seven times.

i find it amazing that belicheck has this kid throwing 30 passes and taking a pounding in the first preseason game. at this rate, someone else will be playing under center for the four games Brady sits out.

@NeedANewGMHCQB Wow, I had no idea. Sacked 7 times? Kids head better be on a swivel.

I wouldn't say it means nothing but, really, it means nothing. Lots of teams have gone 0-4 in the preseason and were fine. Last week was a crazy week with the Geno situation. I'm not surprised they looked terrible (because they did look terrible). Next week will be a much better barometer of where we are. Another performance like last night and I'll be very concerned.

we all tend to focus on the physical skills of the QB. for sure, they are important. but we undervalue the experience factor all the time. this franchise has suffered with young and inexperienced QBs for a long, long time. fitz can stabilize the position with veteran savvy and a great understanding of gailey's offense. hope he stays healthy and the o-line performs well in front of him.

Things I liked:

-Fitz take charge attitude (very, very small sample size...)

-Fitz on the sideline encouaraging his teammates

-Coach Bowles talking to Mauldin immediately after his mistake

Things I didn't like:

-very,very  poor tackling

-a secondary not ready for primetime (yet)

-seeing Salas play like an All-Pro

Apparently Rex tried to trade for Geno when he went to the Bills. Thats interesting. Wonder what they offered...

@levi link?

Edit: considering Bart Scott stated that Geno's team mates don't support him, I find it hard to believe Rex would want Geno's on his team.

hitchhiker

@t__k he'll just break out his trolling "vortex" & derail the topic with logical fallacies, personal insults, try to change the topic, & outright lies.

@hitchhiker I would love to hear what Brendan thinks about the Bart Scott comments.

I'm glad we can rely on yet another person not in the locker room to know what the locker room is like.

hitchhiker

@Disgruntled Jet Fan yeah, it's much better for anonymous TJB posters to let us know what it's like in the locker room.

hitchhiker
hitchhiker

@levi I find that shocking, & assuming it's true, just lost more respect for Rex.

Not sure who you're referring too, but I've repeatedly said I wasn't there, there's no first or second hand evidence of what exactly happened, so I will not presume to know one way or another.

hitchhiker
hitchhiker

@DGF I wasn't referring to you, however while you may choose not to speculate on this topic, it's ridiculous to assume others won't or shouldn't.

Did you even read Bart's comments? He makes a very strong, logical argument about people he knows & played with.

levi
levi

@hitchhiker You and I have argued over this a couple times. But not about what happened really, more about who to blame and I believe they are both to blame. The more I hear though the less respect I have for Geno so I think you are probably right that the players are losing or have lost respect for him too. Assuming the stuff were hearing is true. He just really is sounding like a dck which is fine if you can play people will tolerate that but when you suck...not so much.

At this point, I'm beginning to wonder if Pryor &/or Amaro make the team this year.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any of Idzik's picks will make a lasting, positive impression over their Jets' career other than Richardson (assuming he doesn't end up in prison or watching NFL football while doing bong hits with Josh Gordon).

@hitchhiker "watching NFL football while doing bong hits with Josh Gordon)."

I'm sure there are worse ways to pass to the time.

Disgruntled Jets Fan

They will, because we don't have a pile of good candidates at those positions.

hitchhiker
hitchhiker

@cpl593h while that's true, it'll mean EVERY Idzik pick was a failure & 1-20 is better than 0-20.

hitchhiker

Amaro barely got on the field & then immediately got hurt, I doubt his future as a Jet is secure.

Who knows what Bowles thinks of Pryor, but he can't be impressed. Considering Pryor was reported to have attitude issues, his release would not surprise me at all.

t__k

@hitchhiker It is alarming that Amaro can't beat out Cumberland.  Cumberland stinks.

Nothing beats watching Cro "trying" to make a tackle in a preseason game.

I think he was actually "trying to try" to make a tackle.

Leonard Williams debuts with a wimper....

Dorothy, the scarecrow, the tinman & the cowardly Leonard....

Lol

Seriously - preseason is meaningless but I was hoping Leonard would roar instead of meow

@bradysucks

He will when we get Wilk back I also dint really hear Richardson screaming out there

Disgruntled Jets Fan

Richardson killed one of their backup OL. He might be playing a little angry.

bradysucks

If he needs Wilk to roar instead of meow it's not good

He was projected as a top 5 pick - He has size & speed but is he a killer on the field?

bradysucks
bradysucks

Yes it is meaningless

Thank God !!!!

Still it would be nice to see something from the rookie that resembles a bad attitude on the football field - meaning that he plays with a chip on his shoulder like Richardson

t__k

@bradysucks I would've liked to have seen more too, but I bet that guy will be the least of our worries.

Bowles saw it all so will see next week. with out Wilk and Richardson. Well Really Wilk is huge when he not in as we saw last night. Richardson bring the excitement. Offense looks great we know Fitzy will play a hole lot better come a week with the #1s Just need Wilk come Sept.

Preseason, whatever.  They looked incompetent.  A lot of work to do before week one.

hitchhiker

@roadyhorns A lot of players looked incompetent - all the OL Idzik drafted, Pryor, Amaro, etc but what concerned me the most was how the team looked slow & didn't really seem to care.

@hitchhiker Pryor takes so many bad angles to the ball it's amazing.  It's like he picked up right where he left off.

Now that the season is officially over, names to watch in the 2016 draft at DE in the 1st round include Emmanuel Ogbah, DeForest Buckner, and Shawn Oakman, as I doubt Joey Bosa lasts till we pick at #6.

levi

@cpl593h I dont know anything about him but I like the name Emmanual Ogbah, lets get him.

cpl593h
cpl593h

@levi @cpl593h I reckon the other team will be so confused trying to pronounce his name that they won't figure out how to block him.

cpl593h

@Disgruntled Jets Fan I can't believe we let an unpronounceable asset like that get away. You accumulate those kinds of players.

levi

@cpl593h  I thought the same thing with IK.

Now Im picturing IK standing over Geno (like Muhhamad Ali) saying "Whats my name?" and Geno not being able to pronounce it.

cpl593h

@levi @cpl593h Geno doesn't have to say people's names, he just sticks his finger in their face.

@cpl593h  Hes gonna be mumbling for 6 to 8 weeks.
