Read: John Tortorella on Rick Nash/Rick Nash on John Tortorella

Rick NashSince the Rangers acquired Rick Nash in July, John Tortorella has expressed excitement about getting to know and coaching Rick Nash.

Tortorella continued earlier this week by talking about how the Rangers and Nash have found each other at the right time, “I think he is at a point of his career where this is the next step in his game. He comes to a bigger market, more pressure put on him, tries to find his way to produce in the playoffs. I think we have him at a perfect time, perfect age. He was a hell of a player in Columbus. This is a different stage right now. I think this is perfect timing for Nash and the Ranger organization to have him here.”

Over the weekend, Tortorella added “I watched him so much from afar while he is playing for other teams, I have seen him in international hockey, he’s a hell of a player. I like way he uses his body.”

When asked by the NY Post about  Tortorella, Nash responded “everything I’ve heard is he’s passionate, he’s intense, he’s honest, he’s gonna tell you if you’re playing well, if you’re not playing well. And as a player, that’s all you can ask. He’s gonna motivate you. He’s gonna get you going. I heard he’s a tough guy to play for, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Yesterday, Tortorella made his feelings about Nash clear:

“I think he is going to be really good for us.”

Prediction: they'll trade the pick, move down and select OT Andrus Peat.

I voted NO but I wouldn't be devastated if they did.....the game is won in the trenches. Our D-line is STACKED,our O-line,not so much!

There are a few players myself and others would love at 6, but I don't hate the idea of getting some new, young help on the Oline..... We are gonna play some strong d-lines.

I would like to see the Jets drop down a little, get an extra pick in the first or second round, and pick one of the top OTs. We are good, at most other positions and I am not sold on any of the QBs.

Stupid question...........

-Does anyone  know NOW who's on the board after the first five?

-Does  anyone know if the Jets will be at 6, or 12, or 2?

-Does anyone know what's on Macc's mind?

Stupid question........

What a dumb poll. It depends on what 5 players are taken before the Jets pick,

Why doesn't this surprise me. Most of the bloggers on TJB are defensive guys and if they where doing the draft every year guys like D"brickashaw Ferguson and Nick Mangold would not have ever been Jets.. This vote is a bunch of Baloney!  And 80% of the mock drafts in the sports world are wrong.. Ya right. LOL

Heck if Steve Hutchinson was on the board Jet Bloggers would say he stinks cant take to him at 6 . Since 80% say no even more reason to take him.

@Bubby Brister

I love La"El Collins also. I get it most bloggers like Collins and they are absolutely right about Collins but sooner or later where gonna need to get younger on the o-line inside and outside with in the next 2 years getting Schreff at guard a strong man on the inside is rare and they compare him  to a Steve Hutchinson well that worth the risk taking  if the Cooper and Beasley/Fowler aren't there. This article is all about the guys opinion who posted it! Knowing the vote would go this way on the blog.  Just another dummy. This so so so stupid!

Bob-o ,  Relax.  I am hoping they pick La'El Collins... so I voted scherff off of my own private idaho...

@bob you don't draft a tackle this high unless you think he can be a blindside tackle... does anyone think this guy could play at that level?????  If there was a an Ogden in this draft, i would be all for it... But that is not the case...

@nicksbeard @bob Well, you don't draft a Z this high in the draft but polls are filled with Jet fans who think they should draft Cooper.....

@nicksbeard @bob

Who says he cant play tackle.  He's a big man fast on his feet oh arm length a little short . What a bunch of nonsense! whos says this stupid stuff!

@bob @nicksbeard not saying he cant play tackle, not sure if he is talented enough to play blind side tackle...  I don't know enough to give a definite answer, just repeating what i heard... He is not a franchise left tackle..

@Jeff E. Guy @nicksbeard @bob I am not huge on cooper either... If i am drafting a receiver top ten i want a Brandon Marshall type body with speed...  It will be a fun draft night to see who the organization covets...
