Buzz: What The Rangers Are Willing To Offer Columbus For Rick Nash

In the NY Post, Larry Brooks writes that Glen Sather is prepared to offer two players from the Rangers roster and two prospects in a deal to get Rick Nash.

He writes that Scott Howson continues to ask for two players from the group of Chris Kreider, Ryan McDonagh and Derek Stepan.

Brooks writes that Howson has attempted to create a bidding war with other teams for Nash, but those other teams, Philly, Ottawa and Carolina, are not on his preferred list of destinations.

He also adds that Sather has been interested in acquiring Nash since the 2010-11 season when Howson called to inquire about Michael Del Zotto who had been sent to Hartford.

The analysis pieces every day were consistently interesting. That's a hard thing to accomplish considering your audience -- each one of us -- thinks he knows more about the Jets than anyone else out there.

And the writing itself is very good, too.

Much appreciated.

Great work as usual here guys. I can't wait for the offseason fun. I've been playing around with that nfl salary cap page for months now in preparation!

I would cut Landry, Holmes, Sanchez and Cro. In FA we should sign G Asamoah and S Ward WR Boldin and QB Jackson/Henne.

The draft should be the focal point of the offseason. Sammy Watkins would be ideal and then a TE in the 2nd. The jets have so many picks that I would just trade up for Watkins. It should cost a 1st 3rd and a 4th to trade up 5-7 spots

Thanks are due to the staff of the Jets Blog.  There wouldn't be any readers or commenters without the hard work you guys put into this place.  I really appreciate it.

Thanks to BB, Bent, Weeks, Corey and the rest. You guys do great work here, it makes sifting through the wreckage that is Jets football tolerable during the bad times and even more enjoyable during the good. Cheers!

BB -- thanks for everything! And now that we know Rex will be back, should I make reservations for Cortland? Hopefully Bob's mother is still hanging in there and we can get some pie!

The video of Woody telling the players that Rex isn't getting fired is awesome and hilarious.

Thank You all very much. This is an excellent blog. Regarding the offseason, with all the cap space and draft picks I don't think it's a stretch to say that this is one of the most important offseasons in NY Jet history. It's Idzik's chance to really put his stamp on the organization. He has no room for failure in reshaping this team.

Firstly, thanks for keeping us so well informed.

Secondly, with so many picks and so much % this is indeed going to be a fun and active off season

@Kyle Suta I may be wrong, but I don't think that the "deal making" of draft picks is Idzik's style. He will use all his picks wisely and build slow and judiciously thru the draft. Same goes for FAs; I don't think he is gonna drop a boatload of money on anybody. If he can find a player that can help at a good price, he will grab them (just like he did this year).

@cunnyI've watched that 5-6 times ... doubt that you'd see that reaction in New England if Kraft was announcing Belichick was coming back.

@r_in_ct@cunnyI thought the video of Idzik and Ryan was even funnier. It was like Idzik was saying to him.... "I know it was you Fredo...you broke my heart" :)
