After the game on MSG, Alain Vigneault said “he didn’t miss a beat. he was real solid. Other than the penalty which could go either way I thought he played real strong.”

Zuccarello spoke after practice on Saturday (Rangers) and said:

  • “It’s an important game and everyone knows it. It is our building and nothing other than a win is good enough.”
  • Has the style of play changed, “I think we are still a hard working team and play good defense that will lead to good offense. It’s the same and the bottom line is just a hard working team.”
  • On his line, “I don’t know. I think we all work very hard, everyone works hard but it’s hard to explain, I don’t know to be honest with you. The more you play the more you get to know each other and it’s been big for us and hopefully it can stay the same way. It’s a boring answer but it’s all about working hard and good things will come.”
  • On being on a consistent line, “this is the first season that I play a lot of games. Like I said, if you play a lot of games and play important minutes your confidence goes up and obviously it helps playing with Brass and Poolie. It doesn’t matter who you play with on this team, you will always have good linemates. We have some important games coming up here soon.”
  • On Brassard being an effective center, “he holds onto pucks, has good vision and finds the players around him. He is a hard worker.”
