I hate that the little guy is injured, but the olympics are good for hockey. If we want our game to grow we need international play. I am currently living in Hawaii and somehow people are buzzing about USA hockey out here.

Not for nothing but it was the players who wanted to go, Not Bettman. Injuries happen all the time, its a part of sports

Olympic hockey is an insult to the NHL and should be played in the summer if NHL players are used.

The Rangers don't play for 9 more days. I doubt he misses a game for the Rangers.

You can't put this one all on Bettman.  The NHLPA wanted to go to the Olympics - probably more than the owners wanted them to go.

This is why NHL players should no longer be allowed to participate in the Olympics in the midst of an NHL season.

@Matt Corbin  Olympic hockey and international play still happen if NHL players aren't allowed to play.  It has been widely reported that this will probably be the last time NHLers are allowed to play for a long time, regardless.   The league hates it, owners hate it, and the next two winter games are in S Korea and China where there are security concerns.  So, nice while it lasted.

@bigb22 @Matt Corbin  There is no better hockey than when the best players play for their country. Heard conflicting things about the 2018 games in S. Korea, I hope they go. The 2022 games haven't elected a host city yet and won't do so until the middle of next year.
