Mats Zuccarello will play in his first NHL game tonight since suffering his brain injury during Game 5 of the First Round against Pittsburgh last year.
Zuccarello said that he feels good “body-wise” but that it will probably take some time for “things like timing, recieving passes and knowing where all the guys are on the ice.” (Newsday)
He said that his mindset is to play like he did before, “being gritty and going into dirty areas.” (NYR)
Alain Vigneault said that he just wants Zuccarello “to go out and have fun,” keep his shifts short and play a “high percentage” game. (Newsday)
Vigneault said that Zuccarello’s conditioning tests this week were better than his numbers from training camp last year. (Newsday)
