Watch: JT Miller Scores His First Goal Last Night….and It Was Nice

If the video doesn’t start in the correct spot, the Miller goal starts at 1:04

Yerdon also tweeted:

  • Miller’s had what seems to be plenty of ice time early on here and he’s looked good. Been a fan of his game since Lake Placid last year.
  •  J.T. Miller works real hard out there. Outmuscled Parse along the boards to win the puck and clear the zone.

After 4 Games in Sanchez’s 2nd season he led the team to a 3-1 record, had 8 TDS and 0 INTS with three games with over 100 QBR.

How many more ineffective, mistake filled games can Geno have before the lockerroom fractures?

I wish people would stop using the excuse that Geno doesn't have any weapons. With Decker, Kerley, Salas, and Amaro, he does have weapons. I was at the game yesterday and was focusing on whether they were getting separation. For the most part, there were receivers open. Geno seems to focus in on his primary receiver. He does not seem to get through his progressions. He gets pretty good protection. Much more than Sanchez did in 2012.

The Jets really didn't play that bad, when judged within the confines of the talent they have.  I'd say that was 85-90% of how good the team can possibly be.  They've hung in there with some really well established teams, with far superior QBs.  That's pretty darn good.

The Jets have the best defensive line in football.  And all of the guys are young, with many years left to play.  That's an incredible base to build the team on.  Next year, they'll spend money and picks on some WRs.  Geno will be a year better.  As a team, we're on the upswing.

I think it's a good time to be rising too.  Many of the great QBs in the league are getting old and will probably be out in 2-3 years.  That'll be the perfect opportunity for these young guys to step up and make a name for themselves.  If the Jets were blowing people out, 54-3, would the games really be that entertaining?  Same goes for the Jets getting killed like it's Thanksgiving night every Sunday.  We've had some highly competitive, close games, with the Jets showing a lot of fight.

There's no magic pills to turn this team into a world beater.  People need to let go of the anger and just enjoy the journey.  The Jets winning isn't going to improve your life one iota.

Must be frustrating to have damage control duty for Geno today.

I didn't get to watch the game. Did Geno have any turn overs?

I wonder if the Saints blogospheres are even half as panic stricken as we are.

Where's 68 to tell us everything is fine?

al_toon

@will898 Yes and No.  Our (receiving) "weapons" don't compare to ANY of the teams we have played so far (including Oakland).  So to sit here and talk about (receiver) weapons on offence is a joke.

With that being said, Geno is not making the people around him better.  And I'm not trying to make excuses for his below average play.  In other words, he doesn't have weapons and he also doesn't play very well. They are both true.

@will898

Geno doesn't see the field well..not much you can do about that.

@Pat d

Not really Geno.  Mangold snapped one over his head, which Geno did a great job locating and falling on, saving us a turnover.  Then Salas under ran a deep route as the O-line got beat again.  Geno was letting loose of the ball when he was hit hard.  Salas should've caught it, but he's pretty bad, so the Lions defender grabbed it.  Then on the next possession, the refs made a terrible call.  Replays clearly showed Geno's arm moving forward as he was illegally hit, but the refs once again ruled against us.

The receivers dropped a bunch of easily catchable passes.  Chris Johnson looked like a toddler trying to run through a brick wall.  And the defense couldn't stop Stafford's march down the field.  All in all, Geno was the one bright spot in the game, considering this is just his 20th start.

I haven't had time to read the comments yet, but I'm sure the general consensus is Geno did everything he could, but the team let him down.

@J. Smooth

I don't see anyone who is panic stricken on this Blog, Smooth.

I just see people coming to the realization that we don't have the greatest roster and that we are probably not a playoff team.

Brendan
Brendan

@williamg1 You copied a quote without reading the entire thing.

"And we'll see if it stays fixed." It obviously hasn't.

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k People need to stop doing this. 68 isn't on the Jets, he's not the reason we're all pissed today.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se There's a difference between that "realization" (that pretty much everyone already knew) and calling for everything and everyone to get replaced.

levi
levi

@a57se  Probably things they should have realized before now.

Brendan

@a57se Working? The guy does have a life outside of this blog.

levi

@roadyhorns  During yesterdays game I decided not to take football and the Jets to serious. Theres no sense in getting worked up. They just are not a top caliber team and are in building mode.

@roadyhorns @a57se

That's even funnier!

You are on a roll now!

t__k

@Brendan @a57se Yea, he's scouting some 6th round draft pick from Iowa St. that he says will be awesome as a WR.

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k Not really, the Jets played a crappy game and lost. Not much to do with me.

@J. Smooth @Brendan @t__k

Its a shame you don't direct your anger at the people that put this seriously flawed roster together. But hey, if blaming the fans makes you feel better.....

@levi @roadyhorns

That's the ticket Levi...me and my Jets fan buddy at the sports bar had fun even though the Jets lost.

@t__k @Brendan @a57se

Hahaha...he does know more names of draft prospects and unemployed NFL players then anyone else on this Blog!

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se People need to be mad at the team, not people who post on this blog. It's the most childish thing that fans do around here.

levi
levi

@a57se  C'mon you have buddies? I kid. My only problem is everyone knows Im a Jets fan so they dont let me enjoy a game if they are losing. I get texts or calls or ribbing if Im at the bar but its all in fun. I do the same to them.

Brendan
Brendan

@williamg1 Your original comments comes off as calling Marty out on a lie. That's not what happened.

a57se
a57se

@Brendan @a57se

You are in the same boat as 68, of course you want folks to take it easy on you.

You never took it easy on them when they were saying that things weren't all rosey, did you???

You reap what you sow Brendan.

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k The CB's didn't lose the game yesterday, but by all means try to antagonize me about their level of play.

williamg1
williamg1

@Brendan @williamg1

NO, I simply pointed out Geno hasn't stopped turning the ball over.

Brendan
Brendan

@a57se The pathetic thing here is you think I've sown anything.

We're Jets fans that talk about the Jets and for some reason when they lose people like to come and tell a handful that they were wrong, like they get a prize for predicting negative things to happen and it somehow makes them "right."

Every single fan that does this sort of thing should be embarrassed. Every one. I don't care if people come after me, it's been happening for years and it's Exhibit A why I don't respect this fan base.

t__k
t__k

@Brendan @t__k Relax, I'm not antagonizing you.  They didn't lose the game, but they sure didn't win it.

Brendan
Brendan

@williamg1 Because that needed pointing out (again). Are you just going to post about it in every thread now?

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k That is antagonistic in nature. The CB's were fine. The defense had two screw ups yesterday (the big play and the long drive) and that's really it.

The offense was the issue, not the defense.

t__k
t__k

@Brendan @t__k The CB's were fine...wow.  They got shredded.  Calvin Johnson barely played and they got shredded.  C'mon.

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k They did not get shredded. That is factually incorrect. They gave up 118 yards combined and that's if you include the 59 yard TD which almost certainly was Pryor's fault.

But I wouldn't expect facts to stop people from their lazy criticisms. So rock on.

t__k
t__k

@Brendan @t__k Stafford 70% for 272 and 3 tds?

Golden Tate 8 for 116

J Ross ( who is that?) 2 for 65 and a TD

Ebron had a nice little day.

Walls had a nice tackle for a td there.

Pryors angles stink.

Who's lazy here?  The guy with the stats every week or the guy defending a team that loses every week?

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k  You are being lazy.

You realize a S isn't a CB, right? You realize Ebron's plays came on a LB, right? You realize that half (at least) of Tate's yards came on big plays where Rex called a defense that Harris didn't audible out of that left Harris on an island covering Tate from the slot, right?

But I'm lazy?

You are wrong, you can keep repeating your wrong comments, or just accept, as I've proven here, that it wasn't the CB's who lost the game.

a57se
a57se

@t__k @Brendan

Pryor is worse in coverage then his scouting reports indicated...

Jack Tatum my arse.

t__k
t__k

@Brendan @t__k Also, I didn't say they lost the game.  I said that above.  We know Geno stinks.

The fact of the matter is you keep saying our secondary is fine and they are not.

t__k
t__k

@Brendan @t__k See that's just embarrassing, Brendan.  To come on a Jets Blog and tell fans they're wrong.

t__k
t__k

@a57se @t__k @Brendan He plays that deep middle, pass comes underneath, he runs up on a bad angle looking for the KO, WR puts a move on him, 15 years up the field.

Am I close?

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k You're arguing against facts.

I didn't seek you out, by name, to belittle you.

You're making untrue statements that deserve to be corrected.

t__k
t__k

@Brendan Hey Brendan, you forgot that fact that they're best WR wasn't even PLAYING!  Who was gonna cover him???  Or would that be a mix up in coverage as well??

t__k
t__k

@Brendan @t__k When Walls missed that tackle for a TD, who's fault was it?

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k So, now that you're wrong about the CB's playing poorly, you're going to try and act like they would have played poorly if Megatron played?

Sorry, you don't get to do that.

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k Which TD are you referring to? The long one? that was Allen, not Walls, and that was Pryor's fault for letting the guy run free. If you want to fault Allen for missing a tackle after he ran down a WR who was wide open, sure, they would've had the ball inside the 10 instead of in the endzone. Way to pick your battles.

Brendan
Brendan

@t__k Where did you get those stats? PFF has 14 targets, 10 receptions for 138 yards and 1 TD (which is mostly on Pryor, a S).

t__k
t__k

@Brendan @t__k Wait you're right, Golden Tate got knocked out of bounds at the 1, didn't he?  I think it was Walls with a terrible tackle on the sideline to setup that TD.
