I said injuries would be key this Year. We cannot keep sustaining injuries at this rate.Sooner or later it going to take its toll.Islanders got to be a little more physical out there.Calling Josh Bailey anyone seen Josh Bailey?The Islanders every Year should give out the Gary Hart Trophy Casey Cziskas would win it hands down, love the way this Kid plays Hockey.

nite guys c u tomorrow

Even today when I see Butch I remember him with that old helmet that he had as a junior, and that scraggly beard, and oh those playoff goals back in 79/80, 80/81, 81/82, 82/83

cause if it hit CC skates he gets the goal but if it hit the sens players skate its hickeys goal, and why did shannon have cc on the post game show

so who got the winner was it Hickey or CC?

HICKEY IS AWESOME that overtime play you see his patience, he has a great shot as well.   JT the first shift in overtime he plays like its the first shift of the game you see the drive the determination the motivation.....JT IS A LEADER HES THE MAN TO BE CAPTAIN HIS ATTITUDE RUBS OFF ON THE TEAM.     JT'S WILL AND DETERMINATION AND THE FACT HE DOES NOT ACCEPT LOOSEING WILL GET THIS TEAM THE CUP

And ottawa will do this at home 2x as much on Thursday so this team better prepare, teams with big boys like the sens have will take shots all night at this team.

tonelli27
tonelli27

You say its " whining " when a team like ottawa isnt as good as the islanders begins to start cracking islanders all over the ice and using its size to forecheck and take liberties on a smaller team, now you have hamonic and clutter gone cause of the very tactics ottawa employed to hurt them and get a point tonight, not whining folks.

Don't think we will hear Howie say 'is it baseball season yet' this year like he has done in the past when we had a team of garbage players albeit not all of them

This is the best time to be an Islanders fan

CAPPYS HAIRSTYLE IS THERE FOR A REASON.IT IS THERE TO DISTRACT THE OPPOSITION.SO FAR ITS DOING A PRETTY GOOD JOB I WOULD HAVE TO SAY.

@alarbour91 thing is, you have to skate past teams like that.  but it's hard to do that every night, as the season draws itself along.  and the second you slow down they start hitting you.

@tonelli27

then maybe sit somebody and dress Boulton?

camb33

Say for instance. Hammer and clutter buck goes down for an extended time and the team goes into a tail spin and chokes the rest of season away. Those few posters here that call us whiners would be the first ones to blame the season tailspin on the injuries. So we're we whining or just pointing out the facts

gleichzal2

he's wishing the mets can follow the islanders' example of building a team.

tonelli27

@gleich yeah but if they hurt 2 of your guys and injure them for a period of time then what?

Joey Ferguson

 @tonelli27 INJURED! how many times are you guys gonna say to dress him when he is on the IR!

islesfan77

i am going to go with whining. the team is doing great and all of sudden they are too small to compete in the NHL? Come on.

@camb33

I say just pointing out facts

tonelli27
tonelli27

@jep its not whining its fact, the sens pushed this game to overtime by out muscling the islanders in the 3rd.

gleichzal2
gleichzal2

@tonelli27 that's why i like boychuk to dish out some hits, then it's less of a one-way thing.  maybe lee can get the message to hit people, or get cizikas to turn it up a little more.  but yeah, somebody has to cover for the skill guys.

@islesfan77

there are teams in this league whan the chips are down they will run around and bang the isles, pointing that out is not whining unless you have a different dictionary

tonelli27
tonelli27

@77 not sure if you watched the game but when ottawa or some other team takes out tavares or okposo using the same tactics you will site injuries i can bet on it.

@camb33 and dont care what others mistakenly believe

alarbour91

@tonelli27 well said .i noticed that ottawa was outmuscling us we were running around in the 3rd ottawa was playing keepaway from us very effectively because of their size have to insert boulton and go with some more size when your opposition dresses bigger tougher sizeed players reinhard would have been perfect for a game like this with his size and skill

@tonelli27 The seasons over.. Move on nothing to see here.. 18 -7 … Rags 11-9

@tonelli27

I know Vic I am agreeing with you, but that other guy thinks we were all whining

gleichzal2
gleichzal2

@tonelli27 without hamonic and boychuk it's back to a weak defensive team without d-men that hit people.  i thought donovan threw himself around a bit though.

 @islesfan77 I say it's whining and hysteria. Every game is learning experience for this young team. They either learn from it or not..  Good times for Isles..

gleichzal2
gleichzal2

@dynasty @tonelli27 that 18-7 is really 10-7-8, counting ties.  because you know, in the playoffs there's no shootout, if you want to think ahead.

tonelli27

@dynaty cmon stop being foolish.

@gleichzal2

Actually its Boychuk, Hamonic, and Viz.

Thats 1/2 the defense.. Good effort by the Sens. It got them 1 point. They got 18 shots over 63 minutes and had a nice surge when they tied it 2-2. But the 30 minutes prior to that was mostly play carried by the Isles..

@gleichzal2 @Zach14

maybe but i don't think i have many years left and i would love to see them get another cup then i could pass in peace lol

tonelli27
tonelli27

@ dynasty wrong, when 2 of your guys are taken out and you mention it its not effin whining and if neil takes out tavares or okposo what will u say?

Ryan Waibel
Ryan Waibel

Wouldn't it be 13-7-5 considering they only have 5 shootout wins?

@tonelli27 Neil is a dirt bag. I have no problem benching  Bailey for Boulton  if healthy.  Wake up call for the boys..
