Read: John Moore’s Junior Coach On How Good He Can Be/What He Does Offensively

Steve Ott, John MooreJohn Moore spent the 2009-10 season with the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL.

H had 10 goals, 37 assists during the regular season and 16 points in 20 playoff games.

Moore played on a team with Jeff Skinner, Ryan Murphy and Gabriel Landeskong and was coached by Steve Spott.

Spott is close friends with Adam Graves and Spott told the Daily News that Graves called him for a report on Moore after he was acquired by the Rangers.

Spott told Graves that he “firmly believes” that John Moore has the ability to not only be a good puck moving defenseman but also an underrated skill set when it comes to contributing offensively.

“Some guys have the knack of getting pucks to the net, and John has that ability. And with the amount of shot-blocking that goes on in the NHL, the fact that he has that knack is such a huge asset. Pucks seem to find a way to that blue paint, and his feet allow him to get that puck across the blue line and into the middle of the ice.”

Spot also gave Moore the ultimate compliment in comparing his character to that of Graves.
