Following the Rangers game four win and Henrik Lundqvist’s 40 save performance, Mike Keenan raved about Lundqvist and his leadership on MSG.
Keenan said that Lundqvist is a big leader on the team and that his practicing on the off day on Tuesday was something that the guys feed off of.
He added, “this guy could win the Stanley Cup for this team. This guy is an incredible leader. He says all the right things, is the consummate pro, he is prepared and preparing his team and he will go to LA and win another game. I believe it even more now.”
Keenan then said that Lundqvist, if he isn’t already, will start getting into the heads of the Kings players.
On Rangers Insider on Thursday night, Keenan said “it’s not just his goaltending it’s his leadership skills. He commands so much presence on the ice and respect from the opposition as well as his teammates. He has an internal drive to win and compete and get better every night and it was demonstrated last night. He is the reason they are in the Final and he is the reason and the only reason they would have a chance to win the Cup.”
Joe Micheletti says that Hank doesn’t need to say anything to get his point across and that he leads by how he prepares. (MSG)
Sam Rosen said that Lundqvist is enjoying the challenge of being in the Stanley Cup Final. (MSG)
