Against the Hurricanes last night, Henrik Lundqvist stopped 48 shots in the Rangers 4-1 win.
On MSG after the game, John Tortorella said “it’s the best I have seen him play since I have been here. He certainly finds a way to get us a win tonight. He stole us one. We had a good second period but the first and third we were no where to be found.”
Tortorella praised how Lundqvist prepares and competes at such a high level night after night.
On his performance, Lundqvist told John Giannone that he was battling all night but was playing patient and waiting for shots.
When asked how he felt, Lundqvist said, “I felt alright. There has been a lot of hockey, so your body will feel it. It’s a lot of fun to be out there and it’s big points so I can’t resist.”
Rick Nash said on HNL that Lundqvist was “unbelievable” and once again the Rangers backbone and best player.
