The NHL has announced that Henrik Lundqvist was named the third star of the week.
Alex Ovechkin was the first star and Brian Elliott was the second star.
From the NHL release, “Lundqvist started all four games for the Rangers, posting a 3-0-1 record with a 1.22 goals-against average and .962 save percentage. He made 26 saves in a 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets April 1 and another 26 stops in a 6-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins April 3. Lundqvist played in his 500th NHL game April 5, recording 26 saves, plus another two in the shootout, in a 2-1 loss to the Penguins. He then made a season-high 48 stops in a 4-1 triumph at the Carolina Hurricanes April 6. The 31-year-old Are, Sweden, native has a 17-13-3 record in 33 appearances this season and ranks second in the League with a .928 save percentage and sixth with a 2.07 goals-against average.”
Lundqvist was awarded the Broadway Hat on Saturday night.
