Moore won the Masterton Trophy earlier this week.

6/28/ 14 | 7:57PM: I think it’s a mistake to let Dom Moore go, especially if his number will come in under $2 million. Maybe now that the salary cap number has been set the Rangers can work with Moore to find a compromise but there is no good reason for the Rangers to lose Moore when he means so much on the ice (PK, faceoffs, defensive zone, energy) and as a leader in the locker room that has already lost Brad Richards. It’s one thing to give Brian Boyle double his current cap hit, it’s another to not give Moore a raise of under $1 million.

Good, as long as they get the years down to 2. 1.7 at 2 years will be fine.

Respect part aside this is a who cares. He's extremely replaceable. He had his moments but he's a fringe player. Every good team rotates a few veterans every season. They will find this years version of DMoore. Remember, nobody was pounding their keyboards to sign him last year and he didn't become a better player this year.

This is what i dont like, touch base with the guy and show him you have interest at least! Show the guy some respect!

He is the best two-way forward and the best faceoff guy. He can slot in all other lines.

He is the best buy for the money with the exception of Zucc

He WAS the best guy for the $. Now he wants more. If he signed for 1 year @ 1.5 he'd still be a Ranger. Nobody liked the signing in October when he was a bumbling mess. My point is that they picked him off the scrap heap last year and there will be plenty more to choose from this year. Be patient.

Edit: I don't believe he was the best two way forward either. Two ways means offense and defense. Step played 1st line center and was a top penalty killer as was Nash and Hagelin. All were way more productive offensively and played many more minutes against top offensive lines.
