Chris Kreider Hand

Read: Chris Kreider is skating on his own

2:19PM: Alain Vigneault said today “I would say, as I had said all along, that it’s indefinite and until it changes that is what it is.”

12:55PM: Following Rangers practice, Chris Kreider took to the ice to skate on his own. (Steve Zipay)

Kreider still has a “big black brace” on his left hand but is wearing gloves on both hands. (Andrew Gross)

Kreider skated twice last week and is being listed as out indefinitely after having surgery on his left hand.

Kreider may be good playing on the Richards line with Hagelin too. That's a lot of speed on one line with Kreiders size. If Richards shoots. They could be effective.

He's been a playoff performer since the first shift he played in the NHL. All players run on a lot of adrenaline in the playoffs. Some can play effective hockey and some can't get it going. Kreider is able to go into another gear running on that adrenaline and seems to think less and just go play. He wasn't able to keep that going last year in regular season and was the yo yo that year up & down between the AHL & NHL. This year after a sub par camp he went to Hartford for a learning experience even tho he was in great shape coming into camp. He learned how to be a pro off the ice as much as he is on it.

All he has to do is get back into shape and he will be a beast for this team this year. If he's skating even on his own, the team has an idea when he will enter the lineup. He might just put this team over the top with a full regular season under his belt. I would think he will play with that adrenaline but have some more confidence in himself when he has the puck in a prime area. A position he passed up a 1/2 dozen times in last years Boston series by passing when he could have used that wicked shot to surprise a goalie. I bet he returns in game 4 or 5 in this Philly series. There's a lot of time off between games 1-4. Time for him to get acclimated with his linemmates again. Hopefully he goes right back to the top line so his speed can create some time & space for Nash & Stepan. Both of which are at the top of their game going into these playoffs.
