At Howlings, Bruce Berlet spoke with Cam Talbot about where he is in regards to the Rangers goalie situation.
“I’m just trying to keep my level as high as possible and carry that over into the season,” Talbot said. “Bennie gives me all the tools I need, and it’s just up to me to go out and execute, so the game is pretty easy if you take it from there. I am just glad that I was able to make a pretty good first impression.”
Talbot was sent to Hartford on Saturday.
It was a good move to send him down, even though it would have been nice for him to keep working with Benoit Allaire and watch Henrik Lundqvist. He needs to do battle for the top spot in Hartford with Chad Johnson and that is more important to the team and his development than being third string and not getting a lot of time in Europe.
