Read: Deserving To Win Against the Red Wings

RANGERSFollowing the Rangers OT win over the Red Wings, the feeling in the locker room from Derick Brassard and Benoit Pouliot, via the team’s twitter account, was that the Rangers deserved to win that game and they are happy that they did.

Brassard said on Saturday, via MSG, “this win… we wanted to play well in the last game of the trip and we went all out for 60 minutes and we deserved it. We were close in Philly and we found a way to win tonight.”

Marc Staal told John Giannone that the Rangers defended well and found a way to score some goals. He added that the team was confident with how they played in the second period and that they played with the desperation and emotion that they need.

Brassard told the Daily News that the team had all four lines rolling tonight, the D played well and so did Cam Talbot.

Adam Rotter: It was the best game that they played this season and getting a point had to be huge for the feeling. Had they lost in OT or in the shootout it would have stunk, but they played a pretty complete game and that would have been something they could hang their hat on. John Tortorella used to say that it was more important to judge the team on how they played rather than the result and last night the Rangers were lucky to check off both boxes. If the Rangers can play that way in most of their games, and also get Ryan Callahan, Carl Hagelin and hopefully Rick Nash back, they will turn themselves around and be the team that people think they should be.
