Recap: Alain Vigneault’s Post Practice Comments

Alain VigneaultAlain Vigneault met with the media following the Rangers practice today, via the Rangers,

  • On Nash, “The last couple of days have been good days for him. To see him, it’s the first time I have seen him on the ice, I know he has been skating on his own a little bit, but to see him on the ice and feeling good is a real positive sign.”
  • On a return, “not at this time. I think he has had 3 or 4 good days in a row.”
  • On Taylor Pyatt, “He has a concussion and until he feels better….”

  • On not having Nash, “He’s, I don’t have to say this, he is an elite player and a player that has tremendous amount of important minutes on the ice. When you lose a player like that it’s tough to replace and it became opportunities for other guys to show us what they can do and some of them have grabbed the opportunity, some to a less extent. He is a big part of our team and we are looking forward to having him back.”
  • On the New Panthers coach,” He was in Nashville so I got to know him quite a bit. We had, they were one of our playoff opponents a few years back and through all the years with Trotz I have gotten to know him. Hes a good coach”
  • On how the Panthers will play tomorrow, “I think it’s gonna be hard as far as making drastic changes to the way they play because of the short time he has been with the team. He was Trotz assistant so I don’t know where he would come in as far as system wise.”
