Recap: Alain Vigneault With John Giannone

Alain VigneaultOn the Rangers pregame show, Alain Vigneault spoke with John Giannone:

  • On moving Taylor Pyatt up to the top line, “I am hoping he uses his strengths, he is a big body, he can cycle the puck well, protect the puck and go the front of the net. He is playing with two skilled players so if he uses those attributes it will be real good for us.”
  • On Ryan Callahan, “He is such a great competitor, he plays in all situations and against top players. It’s tough to replace but it’s an opportunity for other players to step up and show what they can do.”
  • On replacing leadership, “I am starting to find out about this group on a personal level and on a leadership level. I like what I see. A lot of guys want to show they can be leaders and this is probably one of those opportunities.”
  • On his first Rangers/Devils experience, “Through the years I have seen it. It’s obviously very passionate and emotional. We look forward to these games.”
  • On Cory Schneider, “We haven’t done that yet, but he is a solid goalie. But with traffic and people in front it makes his job tougher.”
