Note: The Rangers Will Have A Preseason Game In Vancouver

According to Larry Brooks, in the NY Post, the Rangers will play a preseason game in Vancouver this September/October as they will start the first month of the regular season on the road to allow for Madison Square Garden to finish the final phase of renovations.

Brooks notes that this could be the first chance John Tortorella gets to coach against the Rangers but notes that sometimes Tortorella watches exhibition games from the press box to give him a better vantage point to evaluate players.

He adds that the Rangers are expected to play against Vancouver in the regular season as part of their opening road swing before making their way back across North America and opening up Madison Square Garden around November 1.

Last year in the preseason the Rangers were supposed to play in Albany against the Devils, in NJ, in Philly, on Long Island, in Kansas City against Colorado and in LA against the Kings. The Rangers were then scheduled to open up the regular season against the Kings.

THIS SECTION is about the 2013-14 schedule. Due to on-going issues with the Phoenix Coyotes, the regular season schedule isn’t expected to be released until the middle of July.
