2:44PM: Darren Dreger tweets “JVR has hip issues. No labrum damage and no concensus on treatment. Decision on whether surgery is required expected this week.”
“JVR loves Philly, wants to stay, but knows trade is a possibility. He’s not dragging his feet to block deal, he just wants to be healthy.”
11:12AM: From Sarah Baicker “Paul Holmgren says JVR’s surgery is delayed b/c of an infection in JVR’s foot. All other speculation is “way off base,” Holmgren says.”
Aaron Portzline adds “Many have asked: I’m told reports of a Philly – #CBJ trade being held up by Van Riemsdyk surgery are totally bogus.”
9:39AM: JVR’s agent tweets:
The idea that @JVReemer21 would delay surgery to avoid being traded is flat out wrong and irresponsible journalism.

8:52AM: via Pro Hockey Talk comes this tweet from Philadelphia personality Howard Eskin. “To continue Flyers like Rick Nash and a “possible” trade really can’t happen until JVR is 100 percent. JVR delaying surgery on torn Labrum”
Prior to the trade deadline, Columbus GM Scott Howson met with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren before a Rangers and Flyers game.
It was said at the deadline that Columbus was trying to send Nash to Philly and that they wanted Sergei Bobrovsky and JVR as part of a package for him.
The Flyers traded Jeff Carter to the Blue Jackets last summer.
