At NHL.com, John Kreiser picks Michael Del Zotto as one of seven players who are hoping to build on what they did last season and not be a one hit wonder.
He writes, “On a team that has trouble scoring, Del Zotto’s offensive production is vital — but he’s still not as consistent in his own zone as coach John Tortorella demands. There’s room for improvement, which Del Zotto showed during the postseason. The Rangers need the 22-year-old to take the next step in his development.”
During the season, Dave Maloney said of Del Zotto “Michael is more of an active player, when he is on top of his game he is a 3 zone player. I continue to be impressed with his physical game and his ability to read and lead the rush.”
