Moore has scored more than 10 goals in three seasons and had at least 25 points a season over the last four that he played.
In 2008-09, Moore had 13 goals and 32 assists. His career average is 8 goals and 15 assists per season.
Moore told Mike Brophy of NHL.com that he is more than just a checking center, “The way I broke into the League as a fourth-line, penalty-kill guy with the Rangers probably pigeonholed me a bit,” Moore said. “I think over the years I have showed the ability to be a two-way player. I have always tried to be a well-rounded player and not just a checker. My mode of operation throughout my career is to get better every year, and that won’t change.”
Alain Vigneault said last week that he was very impressed with Moore and how he played effectively and was a leader during the exhibition games, especially after being out of of hockey for as long as he was.
