Buzz: Are The Rangers Looking At Derick Brassard?

Steve Zipay, at Newsday, notes that the Rangers have had scouts in Columbus and they may be looking at Blue Jackets center Derick Brassard.

Brassard, 25, is signed through next season with a cap hit of $3.2 million.

He has 4 goals and 11 assists in 26 games this season.

Last season he had 41 points and 47 points the season before.

Brassard is averaging 16:36 per game and is fifth on the team in total faceoffs taken.

He is 44% on faceoffs and has been lining up at wing recently.

The Hockey News says that Brassard is a talented, but inconsistent forward that has upside.
