Buzz: What the Rangers seem to want as part of a Dan Girardi trade package

Dan Girardi Broadway HatThe Bruins will not be “biting” on trying to acquire Dan Girardi as long as the Rangers want a first round pick as part of a trade package. (CSNNE)

Over the weekend Joe Haggerty wrote that Girardi would likely cost a first round pick and maybe a top prospect. That price is likely too high for the Bruins to pay for a rental player. (CSNNE)

Mike Milbury thinks that Girardi would be a prefect fit for the Bruins. (CSNNE)

The Rangers are more likely to re-sign Girardi than they are trade him.

Totally agree with Joe Haggerty, so if the Rangers are considering trading Girardi before the deadline; they better let teams that are interested (72 hour window) to neg with Girardi. If not, the Rangers will not get the deal their looking for.

I told Pete in our discussions we throw in J Reilly instead of a 1st rounder. If not we go with A MacDonald.

I think the chances of the Rangers trading Girardi to Boston when we could play them in the playoffs once again are probably negative one billion percent.
