Read: Carl Hagelin’s Agent Says That Contract Talks Look Good

Carl HagelinCarl Hagelin’s agent spoke with Mattias Ek of Expressen, a newspaper in Sweden, and said that Hagelin is recovering well after shoulder surgery last week and that contract talks between him and the Rangers are looking good.

When translated, Hagelin’s agent said “It looks good, they really want him, so it’s a blast.”

Hagelin’s two-year entry-level deal expires this summer and he will be a restricted free agent. His cap hit was $875,000.

Hagelin had 10 goals and 14 assists this season and had seven of his goals and four assists in 12 February games. He averaged 17:18 per game last season.

In the playoffs, Hagelin had three goals and three assists in 12 games. He had 35 shots, 15 hits and averaged just over 18 minutes a game.

Hagelin said he had no problem with the comments that John Tortorella made about him “stinking” on the power play.
