Read: Cam Talbot Is Being Looked At As The Backup Of The Future

This past season, Cam Talbot played the third most minutes of any goalie in the AHL, 1668, and started 55 games.

It was Talbot’s first season as a full-time starter at the AHL level and he was 25-28-1 with a save percentage of .918 and a GAA of 2.63.

Gordie Clark told the NY Times “you could go down to Connecticut and watch them lose, 5-2 and 6-1, on a weekend and come away saying, ‘Wow, he played unbelievable. He got to play the whole year this year, and he’s really come along. So he’s going to give a run for the backup spot.”

Talbot signed a two-year extension with the Rangers in February and he will be on a one-way contract for the 2014-15 season. It is expected that he will become Henrik Lundqvist’s backup starting in 2014-15.

Talbot has an incredibly designed mask.
