Read: Brad Richards Is The X-Factor

Brad Richards5PM: Earlier today at a ping pong event, Henrik Lundqvist was asked by MSG about how Brad Richards has looked during the informal skates he and his teammates have been having at the MSG training center.

Lundqvist said that Richards has been working really hard this summer and, “he’s looking good.”

9:37AM: In The Hockey News 2013-14 yearbook, Brad Richards is listed as the Rangers “X” Factor for this coming season.

The Rangers did not use a compliance buyout on Richards with the hope that his game would return to previous levels.

They wrote, “Richards was prone to alarming turnovers and was slow-footed during the season. Sather is gambling on a renaissance. Without the team’s No. 2 center producing, the Rangers won’t have much flexibility to improve via trade.”

Richards has spent the offseason working out with Marty St. Louis.

Projections for Richards this season have him between 16 and 20 goals and 34 and 41 assists.

Sports Forecaster has Richards with 14 goals and 43 assists.
