Following the Rangers optional skate this morning, Ryan Callahan said that he took the next step in his recovery from a shoulder issue by taking some contact today.
Callahan said that his shoulder has reacted well to being pushed over the last few days and he wants to see how it responds tomorrow after he took contact today.
He added that his shoulder isn’t limiting him at all on the ice and said that he believes he is still on track to return within the original time frame of 10-14 days.
Callahan told Ranger Rants that while he wants to get back on the ice and help his teammates, he won’t risk hurting himself again and doesn’t plan to play until he feels he is fully healthy.
Callahan has been out since being injured against the Flyers on January 29th.
