In the Wall Street Journal, Mike Sielski writes about how the Rangers finally have Chris Kreider under contract and how he was one of the big pieces that the Rangers refused to move to acquire Rick Nash at the trade deadline.
Sielski spoke with Gordie Clark who said that the Rangers refusal to trade Kreider isn’t the only reason that Nash isn’t with the Rangers:
“They were asking for so bloody much. As I said in the [war] room, ‘Jeez, Columbus wants to give us Nash, but they want us to look like Columbus when we get him.’”
It was reported earlier this week that the Rangers offer for Nash was not the one that Columbus was considering.
