Read: Henrik Lundqvist Wants To Be Sharper/Get A Win Tonight
On Sunday, John Tortorella pulled Henrik Lundqvist from the Rangers loss to the Penguins because he didn’t want him to stay on the ice with how the Rangers were playing in front of him.
Ryan Callahan said in the post game that the team shouldn’t put Lundqvist in a spot where he has no help.
Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers push each other.
Lundqvist told the Daily News, that he deserves blame for how Sunday turned out,“I didn’t feel good either. As a team maybe we need to play better, but personally I could’ve played better. A lot of times it goes hand-in-hand. I feed from them; they feed from me. And if I can’t be there and make those extra saves when they need it, it’s going to be tough.”
He added at Ranger Rants that he went away from his game plan on Saturday and started to chase the puck rather than let it come to him. Lundqvist said, “I need to be sharper.
Lundqvist said after the Rangers optional skate, to NHL.com, that he wants to win tonight to get a good feeling back in the room and “start building something positive.”
