Read: What Can Be Expected From Chris Kreider
At ESPNNY, Mike Mazzeo wonders what the Rangers can realistically expect to get from Chris Kreider.
He writes, “New York is expecting big things from the youngster, who has a ton of talent and is expected to play on one of the top two lines. It will be interesting to see what kind of production the Rangers get from Kreider.”
He has five goals and seven assists, with 66 shots, for the Whale this season.
Prior to the season, 70% of readers thought that Kreider would score between 20 and 30 goals.
Some projections had him being around 50 points for an 82 game season.
Kreider, at Ranger Rants, talked about how the biggest change for him wasn’t going from the NHL to the AHL, it was going from the playoffs to regular season hockey. He talked about only worrying about things he can control like winning puck battles and how if “you play an honest game, the chances come.”
He added that all he wants to do is work hard, earn a spot on the team and play hockey, “Down there I was excited for every single game and I’m excited to try and earn my spot on this team. It’s kind of the same as it always has been. I’m excited to get the opportunity to play professional hockey and try to make the team.”
