Rick Nash will miss his second straight game with an undisclosed injury and yesterday John Tortorella talked about how some of the Rangers bigger name players, Brad Richards and Ryan Callahan, need to play better.
Marian Gaborik, who John Tortorella said created some offense and moved his legs against Montreal, said yesterday, that playing with out Nash is something the Rangers will have to deal with, “It is what it is. Whoever is out there needs to take their game to another level. We just need to find a way to play without him.”
Adam Rotter: It is up to everyone to try and chip in to fill the void left by Rick Nash, but a big chunk falls on the primary scorers who have been streaky at best. I keep hoping that THIS is going to be the game where Brad Richards turns things around and while his stats aren’t that bad, his consistency level hasn’t been there. It doesn’t matter whether Nash is out short term or long term, the Rangers brought in all of these top level players to work together and share the scoring load. Relying on one player to do most of the scoring, as they have in the past, won’t help the Rangers get to the next level.
